Bangladesh has made remarkable progress in reducing poverty, supported by sustained economic growth. It has reduced poverty by thirty three percent in the last two years. Rapid growth enabled Bangladesh to reach the lower middle-income country status in 2015.

The economic growth has rapidly increased the demand for energy, transport and urbanization. Bangladesh still faces challenges with millions of people living below the poverty line. So, with the right policies and timely action, the country can move up within the middle-income bracket.  20 Marks


টেকসই অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধির সাহায্যে বাংলাদেশ দারিদ্র্য হ্রাসে উল্লেখযোগ্য অগ্রগতি করেছে। এতে গত দুই বছরে দারিদ্র্য কমেছে ৩৩ শতাংশ। দ্রুত প্রবৃদ্ধি বাংলাদেশকে ২০১৫ সালে নিম্ন মধ্যম আয়ের দেশে পৌঁছাতে সক্ষম করেছে।

অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধি দ্রুত শক্তি, পরিবহন এবং নগরায়নের চাহিদা বাড়িয়েছে। বাংলাদেশ এখনও দারিদ্র্যসীমার নিচে বসবাসকারী লক্ষ লক্ষ মানুষ নিয়ে চ্যালেঞ্জের সম্মুখীন। তাই সঠিক  নীতি ও সময়োপযোগী পদক্ষেপের মাধ্যমে এই দেশ মধ্যম আয়ের দেশ হওয়ার পথে এগিয়ে যেতে পারে।
